Sen. Michael Halpin – Illinois Senate District 36

Sen. Michael Halpin (Democratic Party) is a member of the Illinois State Senate, representing District 36. He assumed office on January 11, 2023. His current term ends on January 8, 2025. A former member of the Illinois State House of Representatives, Halpin ran for election to the Illinois State Senate to represent District 36. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Michael Halpin graduated from Roger Williams University with a bachelor’s of arts and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois. He has previously served as a legislative aid to former Congressman Lane Evans, as public guardian for Rock Island County, and has served on the board of directors for Bridging the Gap.
