Communicating with Alzheimer’s

January 28, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Thursday, January 28
1:00-3:00 PM, Spoon River College Community Outreach Center, Room 111, 2500 East Jackson, Macomb
As people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias progress in their journey and the ability to use words is lost, families need new ways to connect. Join MDH Memory Support Services and the Alzheimer’s Association Central Illinois Chapter to explore how communication takes place when someone has Alzheimer’s, learn to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.
Free. Pre-registration is required.
For more information or to register, contact the Alzheimer’s Association at (309) 681-1100.
